How does sustainability work?
Just do it!

Two male employees are standing in a bright, modern office both working on a laptop. The man on the left, in a white shirt, smiles and holds a pen over a notebook. The man on the right, in a black polo shirt, holds the laptop and concentrates on the screen. Large windows and green plants can be seen in the background.
We have the responsibility. We have the knowledge and expertise. And we have the drive. As a technical service provider, 2W is predestined to develop and consistently implement environmentally friendly ideas. Our goals are clear: preservation of our ecosystems, safeguarding social prosperity, and financial strength.

“At 2W, sustainability consists of three pillars: environmental responsibility, financial efficiency and a working environment that makes people happy.”

Environmental responsibility: the interplay of good ideas.

Since the company's foundation, the focus of our service portfolio has been on the use of technical products which extends their service life and conserves resources. Our ISO 14001 certification is more than an important contribution within the scope of the supply chain law: it underlines our internal attitude and the pursuit of continuous improvement. Through experience, our day-to-day work and newly gained knowledge, we are developing an increasingly profound environmental awareness. The positive effect: on a regular basis, someone within the 2W team inspires us with a clever idea for handling resources sustainably. Here are just a few examples:

  • Promotion of CO2-reduced personal mobility (Jobrad company bike2work scheme, use of public transport, German Rail Tickets)
  • Electric and hybrid vehicles in the 2W fleet
  • Reduced energy consumption through intelligent data management
  • Fabric rolls in place of paper towels in the washrooms
  • Use of glass bottles instead of plastic bottles
  • Biodiversity: bee-hives on the company’s premises
  • Electricity generation from 2W’s in-house solar system
  • Green areas on the roof terrace
Three colleagues – two women and one man – are sitting at a table, laughing and working together on notes. Plants and colourful decorations can be seen in the background.

Cost-effectiveness: balance between finance and ecology.

Managing to conserve resources and using energy more efficiently also improves the company’s overall performance at the same time. Compliance with mandatory EU regulations to promote the circular economy is an important issue for many of our customers.

Ecodesign Directive: 2W supports you in the resource-conserving design of products and functions at all levels of value creation. Our services include extending the use of products through efficient repair methods to introducing remanufacturing processes as environmentally-friendly and cost-effective procurement alternatives.

For a wide range of products, the Digital Product Passport will be introduced from 2027, to promote transparency, quality and sustainable decisions throughout the supply chain. It will facilitate the operation, maintenance, reprocessing and recycling of a product, by providing detailed information on the origin, production, use and disposal of the product. As technical communication specialists throughout the product life cycle, we provide you with comprehensive advice on this topic, together with support in the preparation and delivery of your relevant product information.

  • Professional onboarding with mentors and ‘get-to-know-each-other’ events, such as the Welcome Day, "2W Speed Dating" and company sports and leisure initiatives
  • Regular surveys focussing on the satisfaction of our employees
  • Digital feedback box for requests, requirements and problems
  • 2W Academy for individual further training

_Social Responsibility

Getting involved together for a better world.

  • Empowerment of young people

2W offers workshops on a range of topics to teach students important skills and knowledge, such as technology, finance, AI, and environmental awareness.

_Smart Solutions

Sustainability lies in the detail.

Major progress comes from many small steps that ultimately make the difference and create tangible improvements.

We continuously review chemical formulations for their international compliance and marketability. Our product managers monitor the technical and financial impact of formulation changes on downstream processes into which the products are integrated.  The use-by date also plays a major role in the resource-conserving provisioning of chemical resources.

We have scrutinised the product quality and delivery chains of popular high-visibility vests, and on the basis of this we simply developed a new environmentally-friendly vest ourselves. The “Lightvate" has already been successful launched. Only materials that comply with the stringent OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 are used in the manufacture of this model.

State-of-the-art offices that conserve resources: cooling without air conditioning, the use of district heating, and intelligent building services that adapt to our needs and save resources.

Water-saving toilets have been installed in the 2W company building, and the taps and shower heads have special filters that deliver 40% less water than conventional filter models.

Minimising the volume of unnecessary printing also reduces the consumption of energy and ink.

The 2W building is located in a park-like environment that promotes both biodiversity and well-being. Bee-hives and generous green spaces are important elements that keep nature alive on the company’s premises. Greening the company building blends harmoniously into this natural environment.

Simply by giving over the company's green spaces to nature and its animal inhabitants. We are regularly visited by various furry four-legged friends who appreciate the available habitat.
